PDCNY Changes in COVID-19
Dear PDCNY community,
Thank you again for your participation in the Parkinson Disease Care New York program (PDCNY), the only program of its kind to offer expert care to people with PD in their homes. Over the past 3 years, the PDCNY team has enrolled over 400 patients across New York State including homebound individuals who may not have otherwise had access to specialty care.
As we communicated at the beginning of the year, our funding will end in June 2020, and we had planned to transition to a self-pay model since Medicare, the principal insurer for individuals with Parkinson disease, did not pay for telemedicine visits in the home.
However, due to the recent expansions of telemedicine, we will instead be making a transition to billing through third-party insurers and Medicare. To schedule a telemedicine visit with one of our PDCNY specialists, please call our Neurology clinic directly at (585) 341-7500.
We remain committed to caring for patients regardless of ability to pay. If Medicare or another form of health insurance does not cover your health care, please call us at (585) 275-0475 or email anna.stevenson@chet.rochester.edu to discuss options. It is our privilege to care for you.
Sincerely,
Drs. Ray Dorsey, Jamie Adams, Katie Amodeo, Pete Morrison, and Chris Tarolli
